CANVAS presents the second viewing of '..scape', an exhibition of new work by Samantha Clarke, Anthony Collins, Gráinne Finn, Vanessa Donoso Lopez and Eimearjean McCormack. First shown at the Hammersmith & Fulham Irish Arts Centre, London in May 2007, the next show will now take place in The Crow Gallery, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 from December 4th - 9th 2007.

Each of the artists re-invents traditional academic practices in highly experimental and innovative ways. Samantha Clarke’s drawings employ print-like techniques on old book covers and cards. Anthony Collins’ work merges photographs, ink drawings and multi-layered paintings on acetate. Gráinne Finn combines illustration, digital art and collage in her silkscreen and lambda prints. Vanessa Donoso Lopez' mixed media pieces frequently support 2D and 3D aspects at the one time. Eimearjean McCormack intermixes a number of print techniques on wood and ceramic surfaces.

Alongside this, there are extremely interesting subjective links between the artists's work. All explore personal or collective memory in various forms: Samantha (old family photos); Gráinne (heredity); Anthony (the biblical figure of Judith); Eimearjean (artefacts and memorabilia from abandoned buildings), Vanessa (toys and dolls from her childhood).

The exhibition will officially open on Tuesday 4th December at 6pm in The Crow Gallery and continue until Sunday 9th. The gallery is open from 11am - 6pm and by appointment.
