Neal
Greig
is an Irish painter from Belfast currently living and working in Monaghan.
He graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA in Fine Art (1987)
and a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art (1988). His work is essentially
sea and landscape based. He is interested in the shifting powers of nature
and his paintings capture a profound, spiritual energy.
Neal's recent solo exhibitions include: The Private Collector Gallery, New York (2006); The Private Collector Gallery, Cork (2005); The Market Place Art Centre, Armagh (2005); The Mullan Gallery (2003, 2004 & 2005); An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny (2003); The Mullan Gallery, Belfast (2003); 'Atlantic Light', Wellspring Gallery, Kerry (2002); 'On Edge', The Origin Gallery (2002) and Artemisia Gallery, Chicago (2001). Group exhibitions include: Boyle Arts Festival (2005); Lydon Fine Art, Chicago (2004); The Mullan Gallery, Belfast (2002 & 2004); The Hammond Gallery, Cork (2004); The Wellspring Gallery, Tralee (2004); 'Revealing Objects', Queens University, Belfast (2002 & 2003); The Royal Ulster Academy, Belfast (2002 & 2003); Mullan Gallery, Belfast (2002); 'Light and Landscape', Screig Gallery, Fintown, Donegal (2002) and 'Contemporary Ulster Artists', Boyle Arts Festival (2002). He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Vermont Artist’s Studios Full Fellowship in 2004. Collections include; ACC Bank, Bank of Ireland, Donegal County Council, Boyle Civic Collection, An Grianán Theatre, Office of Public Works, Renault Ireland, Limerick County Council, Tyrone Guthrie Centre and Monaghan County Museum.
